I spend an unhealthy amount of time in specialty cafés. I'm the kind of person who'll travel across the city just to try a new espresso or talk to a barista about their beans.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped noticing just the coffee and started noticing how cafés actually operate. Almost every owner I spoke to was juggling software that felt like it was built for restaurants, not cafés. Simple workflows became unnecessarily complicated.
